The Tasman District Council has appointed Institute of Directors’ Chartered Fellow Margaret Devlin to the Waimea Water Ltd (WWL) Board.
Devlin’s appointment comes after Karen Jordan stepped down from the Board in February, with Board Member David Wright replacing Jordan as Chair.
Devlin is Chair of Watercare Services, Lyttelton Port Company Limited, the Women in Infrastructure Network, and Hospice Waikato. She has directorships with Meteorological Services of NZ Limited, Waikato Regional Airport, Titanium Park, IT Partners Group, Aurora Energy, and Infrastructure New Zealand. She is also the Independent Chair, Audit and Risk Committee, Waikato District Council, Councillor at Waikato University, Deputy Chair of WINTEC and a Member of the Institute of Directors Waikato Branch Committee.
Margaret brings extensive governance and executive experience in the water and infrastructure sector, both within New Zealand and internationally said Tasman Mayor Tim King.
“The Waimea Dam project is not only significant to the District and region but also nationally, as reflected in the quality of applicants for this role,” he says. “Margaret’s experience complements that of the current Board, reinforcing the interest this project has for those widely experienced in major infrastructure investments.”
WWL Board Chair David Wrights says he is pleased to welcome Margaret to the Waimea Water Ltd Board.
“Margaret’s wealth of sector and governance experience will be of immense value as we progress the construction of the dam.”
