Building water security for our region’s future
The Waimea Community Dam is located far up the Lee Valley. Its location, and the fact it is a worksite, means we are unable to host the public at the site.
So, to show you around, our team has created a 360-degree video virtual tour.
Using your mouse, you can follow the arrows around the site seeing some of the construction in action. Click on the tabs to learn more about the different elements of the dam, such as the spillway, embankment, concrete face, culvert and reservoir. You can also learn more about our environmental work at the site and on Rough Island.
The video was taken in May 2022. We will update it when the dam is completed.
